ZIG ZAG

I have finally finished the sculpture in Bardiglio I started at the end of November

Early stages

I AM AN ENGLISH SCULPTOR NOW LIVING AND WORKING IN ITALY.

I studied sculpture at Reading under Dennis Harland and Alf Parks and I've made sculpture for 45 years. I moved to Cumbria where I bought a large derelict Mill by the river Eden and where I worked and exhibited for nearly thirty years. In 2001 I discovered the town of Pietrsanta in Tuscany which is unique in being a town completely centered on sculpture. I now live and work there. My work has always been formal, architectural and abstract. Modelling in clay or wax then casting in other materials, such as resins, concrete and bronze. Since being in Pietrasanta which is at the heart of the the Italian marble industry I have also worked in marble. For 18 years I also promoted British improvised music and organised the Appleby Jazz Festival.
